Speedweek in Adelaide

Feb 14, 2014

 APRIL  in  ADELAIDE  is    SPEEDWEEK

The Adelaide Motorsport Festival will be one of Adelaide’s most significant motorsport events. It is already attracting interest Australia wide. It commences on the Saturday April 12th with a unique hill climb on one of Adelaide’s iconic scenic roads just a few kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. The climb finishes at the renowned Windy Point restaurant.

On Sunday April 13th we utilise part of the original Grand Prix circuit in the Adelaide parklands where we will stage a Super Sprint event. Cars will range from vintage racers to modern day supercars with special demonstrations by historic F1 cars including the Alan Jones Beatrice Lola which competed in the inaugural AGP.  On the lawns in front of the historic Victoria Park grandstand will be displays of unique and exciting cars and motorcycles as well as food and entertainment.

Visit www.adelaidemotorsportfestival.com.au for all the details

Following which we have our traditional array of Historic motorsport with;

And if you are not competing, you can be in the centre of the action by DISPLAYing your car at either the Adelaide Motorsport Festival Victoria Park Super Sprint on Sunday April 13th or the Easter National Historic Circuit race meeting at Mallala on Saturday April 19th.

So, to enter some or all of the events above.......

For the Adelaide Motorsport Festival (AMF) events...visit the www.adelaidemotorsportfestival.com.au website for all the information, the online entry and payment process. As the AMF events (Hillclimb and Sprint) are focused on historic cars and rare and collectible cars, you must pay a $20 application fee then you will receive an invite to compete after the application is assessed. As most of you will be entering something that is historic, you will get priority assessment and should get an invite to compete  within 7-14 days. To answer some of your questions early...yes the Sprint is on a part of the Clipsal track within Victoria Park and yes Historic Sports and Touring cars of all types are welcome, with F1 cars as the drawcard.

For our traditional events, either go to our Web site http://www.sportingcarclubsa.org.au/forms.php to download the old PDFs or go to www.meecamsau.com and enter that way. If you are not using this site yet, you are wasting a lot of time filling out forms that could be better wasted on old cars
